This is a private reference site, not an Ottawa County office. We cannot confirm custody or release, free anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the government office that holds the record.
Official Records and Custody Contacts
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office operates the detention center and is the first contact for local booking, custody, release, transfer, and booking-photo questions. Use the non-emergency number for records matters. Call 911 only for an emergency.

The sheriff and dispatch operation serves the public around the clock, but that does not establish records-counter hours. No separate records-unit phone line, named records custodian, current public records-window hours, online request form, or local booking-photo fee was verified. Call 785-392-2157 and ask for the current records custodian before visiting. For a written request, ask for electronic delivery and a cost estimate.
Choose the route that matches the kind and age of the record:
- For a mugshot, intake card, bond field, release entry, or recent Ottawa County booking, use the home page’s official lookup and KORA request steps, then contact the sheriff or detention center.
- For a possible Ottawa County warrant, use the Most Wanted Fugitives and warrant-check guide. The page explains the court and sheriff channels without giving evasion advice.
- For someone reportedly just arrested, ask whether the person was admitted to the Ottawa County Detention Center. The county publishes no verified public recent-arrest feed or online arrest log.
- For county-jail release or transfer notification, use Kansas VINE. It provides custody alerts but does not display booking photos.
- For the later case outcome, use the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal or the Ottawa County District Court. Court records are separate from current jail status.
- For a person sentenced to state custody, search the Kansas Department of Corrections KASPER system. A KDOC result is not an Ottawa County booking record.
- For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. For ICE or recent CBP custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator.
